Can ECs be too focused?

So I just had a meeting with my GC who told me I shouldn’t apply to U of Chicago because the adcoms are looking for students with “exploratory mindsets” who don’t know what career paths they want to pursue yet. I got a job working as a medical scribe at a hospital this summer, and I worked at a medical practice last year. I’ve also volunteered at a hospital as a shift manager and volunteer trainer for the past three summers. Since it’s pretty obvious I’m going down the pre-med track, should I not apply to universities like UChicago because I already know want career what I want to pursue?

Thanks in advance!

You should apply to schools that you can afford, that you are in the right gpa/sat/act range for, that interest you.

Do you know what you want to major in?

Your GC is wrong! If you have the stats, go for UChicago, but know that it is a reach for everyone.
