For instance, if I volunteered as a tutor for a younger child but not through any program?

Yes, you can.

Will it be beneficial to me?

Ofcourse it will be beneficial.

“Volunteering by assisting an elderly woman with everyday chores for almost two years now.”

Sounds good? Thats just me helping my mom.

“Tutored a younger child and assisted in SAT, math, and foreign language. Was able to teach him lifelong skills and greatly influenced me and my future aspirations.”

That’s just me helping my bro at hw, talking about girlfriends.

Really, colleges normally don’t call up people and demand for proof, but if you want to flaunt something, flaunt something better. Tutoring a child doesn’t help unless you have hours, or did it through a program. It especially isn’t competitive against those who volunteered in Ghana or did a summer research camp.

Nin 10dude317 - had to laugh about the assisting an elderly woman…I’m sure your mom is proud.

Im sure his little bro has a girlfriend by now, seeing as Nin10 gives him plenty of tips.
