Can Non-Echols Students Room with Echols Students?

I understand that Echols students have their own corridor of the new dorms that they occupy. Could a Non-Echols student request to have a roommate who is an Echols scholar, or is that restricted? When I asked an alumni member on the telephone, he thought it was possible but told me he wasn’t actually sure.

Thanks

You would have to request a specific person and they would have to agree to live in non-echols housing

or vice versa if there is an echols room open with odd numbers or something for instance

Yes, this is possible. If an Echols and a non-Echols request each other on the housing form, they will both be placed into Echols housing. (Unless the policy has changed in the past year – that’s what it was when I was a first year). I knew a bunch of people who did this

Thanks for the answers.
