<p>Kinda freaking out here! thought I had a pretty decent college list till my sat scores gave me away </p>

<p>SAT I
CR-700, Math-700, writin-620 tot-2020
*(retook the test, turned out to be worse than the first one, awaiting results)</p>

<p>SAT II
Maths IC-690, Bio-690, Chem-740 tot-2120</p>

<p>Colleges considering (mostly depending on their strengths in bio-chem departments):
Columbia
Swarthmore
Middlebury
Smith
Wellesley
Colgate
Vassar
Grinnell
Macalester
Lafayette
Brandeis
Mount Holyoke</p>

<p>Other than that I have 9 A’s in my O’levels and 4 A’Level subjects (got A’s for Alevel Maths and AS level of Phy, Chem and Bio) As for ECs, I have a pretty strong ground in art (hv won prizes), writing (work for a local newspaper magazine) and community service ( been involved in many social work both in and out of school) I also teach basic english in this local institute. </p>

<p>Im from Bangladesh and needless to say I simply cant afford college without aid (and the whole 100% of it!) Can anyone pls help me find a good safety school? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.</p>

<p>well…ur EC’s seem decent…but the 620 writing is a turn off…o well u retook the test…well safety schools for anyone is essentially a school that accepts students whose stats on avg r way lower than yours…since ur an intl (like moi) and in need of aid (like meeee) u kno the obvious…we’re screwed. mite wanna consider skls like berea, bard, occidental, oberlin, franklinn and marshall…good aid packages…g’luck.</p>

<p>Hey,ur writting is in NOWAY a ‘‘turn off’’…infact,colleges give the least weightage to the Writting section…so,ur SAT1 score is decent…
Well,cant comment much bout SAT2,might say they r highly ‘‘above avg’’…but u may get a bit frustrated if u look at an avg CCer’s score…but,ur scores r not low at all…</p>

<p>I think ur scores are decent too, U.S. kids don’t get that much writing scores either though they do get excellent CR scores like you did , so that’s pretty much not a big deal to worry about . (I hope )</p>

<p>hello whak<em>is</em>in…i just got into Smith College ED. Anyway for Smith College, SAT is one of the lesss important factor for admission. Smith College had greatly deemphasize SAT scores after it found that there is no correlation between SAT scores and future success.so do not worry about that( BTW i got in withouht taking a single SAT 2)…All you best for your application:)</p>

<p>from your stats, smith is definitely a safety. it’s a great school nonetheless and not to mention $$$. good luck.</p>

<p>Well IMO i think you have very good chances to get in the colleges based on your stats. However almost all of your schools are need-aware… so you might get rejected because of your inability to pay</p>

She’s needs a full scholarship…and when you need a full scholarship, nothing is a safety anymore…</p>

<p>i agree with aritct that nothing is a safety. I know people with higher stat who got rejected to smith…it is tough for international requesting for financial aid anywhere</p>
