Can we talk about blue jeans

The other new trend seems to be “tighter fit and just above the ankle”. This could result in bad flashbacks for those of us who would go to bed dreaming about the day when we could find jeans long enough. I spent my high school/college days in “just above the ankle”:p

My GAP 1969 are ankle length - guess that’s how they are meant to be. I actually prefer most of my pants/jeans this way.

I only need to have a pair or two of jeans that I really like in my closet - if one wears out (or style changes) I’ll replace them. But jeans are pretty much only for the weekend for me. Don’t wear them during the week because of work and after work, I usually have exercise wear on (cause I’m exercising!!) If I have one pair for weekend wear (can be wore with boots or casual athletic wear (flat) and one pair that is nicer (a darker wash) I’m good. :)

“tighter fit and just above the ankle”

As someone who has spent all of my life looking for jeans and slacks that were long enough, this is one fashion trend I have never been able to embrace for myself, though I think it looks fabulous on a lot of other people! Can’t bring myself to do the cropped look, either…

I’m also one that loves the GAP 1969 always skinny jeans. I bought two pair of dark wash in the fall and have been wearing them all winter with boots and sweaters or with ballet flats. They look great and don’t stretch out on me. I got both pairs on sale so they were each less than $40. I have many pairs of expensive jeans that I picked up over the past couple of years (Paige, Sevens, True Religion), but I have not worn any of them since getting the Gap jeans.

I also like Citizens, Seven, and J Brand, and I agree with collage1, that it’s because the denim is lighter weight than many other brands. I will take a look at the GAP always skinny, though, because I haven’t deviated from my favorite brands in a few years now.

I take a break from jeans in the summer (with the exception of white jeans) because they are rather warm and I’m usually more comfortable in casual dresses. A few months off makes me look forward to wearing them again in the fall.

Ok I just ordered the 1969 always skinny jeans. Just what I need another pair of jeans but really still looking for that holy grail. I want them tight but still able to be comfortable. I do have a pair of jeggings and they are pretty comfortable.

I could sleep in my 1969’s - that’s how comfortable they are!!!

30% off at Gap online ends tomorrow!

Another 5’2" CC mom. I love JAG jeans. Wearing them for years. Fell in love with their new pull on Jeans, comfortable skinny and stylish. They would fit better if I had a behind but acceptable. Do not like NYDJ–gave the pair I had to my sister who loves them.
