<p>Hi,lillymom,I’m originally from Pittsburgh and get back fairly often. Husband went to CMU back in the 70’s. Hope your son is enjoying CMU! Does your son have their dental plan as well as yours? Health Services lists some orthodontists in the plan they use. The closest seemed to be Dr. Van D. Miller at 230 N. Craig St. in Oakland. I know nothing about him but he got a 5 star rating on some health grades kind of thing. There are also orthodontists listed in Shadyside and Squirrel Hill. Maybe CMU’s health services could give you a recommendation based on feedback they’ve gotten from other students.Good luck!</p>

<p>Call Pitt dental school and ask for recommendations. For that matter, ask about getting care there.</p>
<p>I actually have a list of orthodontics from my insurance website. I’m looking for a more personal recommendation since I’m not going to be present at the consultation. Our local doctor told my son what to look for during his first visit but would be nice to know that someone had a good experience with that doctor.</p>
