<p>I have the option to take either AP English Lang or Aice Chem
my schedule will look like this.</p>

<p>APUSH
AP Chem
Anatomy and Physiology
Pre Cal H or AP Calc AB
Aice English Lang
Aice Thinking Skills
AP English Lang or Aice Chem (ORGANIC)</p>

<p>I’m leaning towards aice chem because its more relevant to what i plan on doing ( med school)
and organic is usually killer for pre meds so taking that class would most likely help out a bit.
How hard is it to self study ap english lang if i don’t take it?
& Aice English Lang is required for the diploma so it can’t go anywhere</p>

<p>AICE Chemistry. I wish my school offered Organic Chemistry. No, we have to have other classes like Earth Space Science Research or creative writing lol.</p>

<p>AP Lang is a really eye-opening class if you have a good teacher. This is coming from a hardcore math/science junky who plans on being an aerospace engineer. I highly suggest taking AP Lang if your possible English teachers are good. Can you self-study aice chem? I know you can self-study ap chem don’t know about aice.</p>

<p>Lang is just not a class you should self-study. You might get a good score but you won’t have the same experience and therefore it’d be a waste.</p>

<p>Bleach, but the thing is would you really WANT to self study AICE chemistry or even AP Chemistry. OP, if you do self-study either, try to get your hands on a textbook or something.</p>

<p>Given your lovely title, you can look at this one of two ways:</p>

<p>1) Avoid AP English because it generally requires adequate to advanced command of the English language. </p>

<p>2) Take AP English so you can get extra practice. </p>

<p>But in all seriousness, I would take the chem class. I self studied Lang in about half an hour this year.</p>

<p>self-study organic, take AP english lang, unless you are absolutely solid on your writing skills. people always hate on literature/reading classes and there’s some justification in doing so, but the books you read and work you do (especially with writing) goes a long way.</p>

<p>I decided on Aice Chem for a few reasons

  1. It will help me in the long run (pre med)
  2. I need it for the AICE Diploma
  3. Aice English lang is basically the same as ap english lang if not harder., so i won’t really need to self study AP Lang just get a review book and practice.</p>

<p>Although, theres a possibility (hopefully) that my school might merge the two, or allow AP students to “self study” for the aice english exam</p>
