Can anyone make clear how the newly posted financial aid documents work? Do we get our award first and then do the loan documents?
The FA came out yesterday.
It’s ridiculous expensive.
@StevenToCollege
More than 50K?
I was worried that CMU’s FA would be terrible, but my remaining cost is about the same as Case Western (so not too bad).
Maybe if I sell a few limbs I’ll be able to afford a semester at CMU… lol this financial aid is absolutely awful.
Wow, I still have to pay 52k a year… that’s pretty steep…
I was so happy about the acceptance and now I’m just crushed to know I won’t be able to afford it. Will definitely call to see if the price point can be brought down but the prospects don’t look too good.
Did everyone get their decisions yet? For me there’s no letter to view and the decision box is blank… I’m so confused
my financial aid was actually pretty decent, its on par with what I expected based off of FAFSA and other schools.
Where did you guys see your financial aid? Is there a link on the where I am in the process page or was it by mail?
@evalley3 link on where am I in the process
Hey guys is there a facebook group for admitted students? Also does anyone know if they put up the admit rate for SCS this year? Thanks!

@byebyebirdy Thanks a lot!!
@psithurisma thanks!
Mine is 38k a year compared to Berkeley who gave me 16k a year what do you guys think
I know I already said this once, but after getting a FA package I just have to say it again. If you seriously are not going to CMU, then please deny your admission/don’t take a place on the waitlist ASAP cause now that I am so close, I am absolutely dying to get in.
@jk1324 its not like someone denying their admission automatically bumps someone from the waitlist up. Thats not how it works. Once everyone has responded to CMU, after the deadline, they’ll take a look at how many spots are open and then let the waitlist kids know. They have accepted more kids than they have spots. If they correctly estimated their yield, then there shouldn’t be any spots. If more people than expected decide not to go to CMU, then lots of kids might get off the waitlist. It all depends. Calm down.
When I click on the financial aid link on Where am I in the process it just shows me a letter saying the award is available and doesn’t show the actual award. Any ideas?
