that honestly what i thought too, i feel like their still processing some decisions and its either by regional, alphabetical, or some other unknown order
Possibly. At first I thought it was by college, but since there are still people waiting for decisions from colleges that sent out decisions to some, that canāt be correct. Also, I thought school of fine arts didnāt send out any decisions yet (other than the drama/MT department that phone calls applicants), but on Instagram, someone mentioned that he/she got in for sculpture. So I am really clueless. While I appreciate the decisions coming out sooner than initially anticipated, I just wish they would make some sort of announcement so everyone would know when to check and when to stop checking. CMU has to know that people will be checking incessantly until they receive their decision; and all of this incessant checking just drives up stress in an already stressful situation. With us, weāre not really stressed (b/c we 100% do not anticipate getting in), but itās just very annoying.
It seems like all the decisions that came out yesterday were acceptances. So are they releasing acceptances first? Can this mean that most decisions that are about to come will be rejections/waitlists?
Confused.
No. There were both acceptances and rejections. Deferred students havenāt received a decision yet.
Ohā¦thank godā¦I was deferred ED2
I donāt think that is accurate (Iām pretty sure I read that rejections and waitlists came out yesterday too). Anyone else can confirm either way?
At least one deferred student posted that they were accepted. There really is no discernible logic or pattern here.
yep from all the reactions on diff media platforms there were acceptances, rejections, and waitlists, why some decisions get released we may new knowā¦
Perhaps. But thatās only one, a large majority havenāt. Itās very much possible that they lied as well. But oh well, really canāt predict anything right now. Perhaps it will come at 5 pm ET today or next week Friday.
I mean, I think a large majority of all applicants havenāt received a decision-- Deferrals havenāt been singled out. Weāre all in the same boat. Well, most of us are. Letās hope they realize how brutal this is and post some sort of update to let us know what to expect next.
Where did you see any denials posted?
Seems like only acceptances and no decisions here.
Someone on reddit reported that they were deferred and accepted last night.
Keep in mind that most people who get denied will not feel like posting; so in actuality, there are probably a lot more denials than what we are lead to believe from just looking at the results on various college boards. But I have definitely seen acceptances, denials and waitlists.
D24 got into Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences. She saw it on her portal yesterday around 5pm.
My S24 school most of top kids got into CMU.
My son still hasnāt received a decision from CMU on his application portal.
Hi, What department was your grandchild accepted into? Itās Saturday and waiting to receive notification from Drama.
If they were to wait until the end of March to tell us, I think they should send emails that we got a decision. Thatās why Iām hoping itās sooner but if that is the case thatās just diabolical (an exaggeration but Im stressing)
nope havent gotten anything yet
I think they are intending to be sending emails- their video on Instagram and Youtube says āKeep an eye on your email for more details, as decisions will continue to be released throughout Marchā. Maybe the reason they arenāt rolling more decisions out is because there was a glitch last night that made people not get the emails and they want to fix that before loading any more decisions into the portal.
