Crazy as this sounds, CMU does partake in yield management to a certain degree, since many of their applicants would rather go to Stanford or MIT if accepted.

Music Tech is just portfolio no auditions what my DD apply with.

MT (Musical Theater) is a performance major in the School of Drama (performing in shows that call for acting, singing, and dancing). Auditions are required for Acting and Musical Theater majors.

It sounds as though your DD may have applied to the School of Music as a Music & Technology major, for which a portfolio would have been submitted.

I think the original poster was referring to decisions for Musical Theater and not for Music & Technology applicants. I havenā€™t heard anything about Music & Technology decision dates.

Did your D receive a phone call or update to portal?

Update to the portal. My D isnā€™t an Acting or MT student. The only kids I know had calls were performers. She is a Design & Production Student. We never did get an email saying she had a portal update. I saw another parent post on facebook that they had a portal update.

She may one day cross paths with my GS if they both matriculate at CMU. I think that the School of Dramaā€™s Design & Production students sometimes collaborate with the School of Musicā€™s operatic productions. :grinning:

Donā€™t think this is it. My son hasnā€™t heard yet and he has a 3.98 UW/4.3W GPA and a 35 ACT. Applying to Mechanical Engineering.

I checked with admission office. Itā€™s on rolling basis in batches.

I wonder how many ā€œbatchesā€ there will be in all. I guess we keep checking at 5pm each day until we receive a decision.
