Do they call to international students as well?
I wish I could answer this for you, but I donât know whether those students were all from the US or from a mix of different countries. The MT major is very small; the acceptance rate is generally under 1% with a target yield of only 12 students (typically 6 male and 6 female students are admitted each year). If it were up to me, with so few students, I would make a phone call to all accepted students - regardless of their home country. But that is just what I would do; I donât know the schoolâs protocol.
Wishing you good luck.
Since this thread revives. Do you know if CS is rejected, will the second major be equally considered as the first major? Thanks
Is it possible that not recieving the admissions date email is a good thing. On reddit someone is saying that, considering how low the acceptance rate is, people who didnt get it are very likely accepted. And considering the rejection tone of the mailâŠ
Itâs a general mail notifying students of the admissions release. If it was a rejection email, it would have led with that. Mass emailing can miss out on a few people, donât think too much about it.
Yep exactly and also sometimes these mass emails go to spam or Junk folders plz check those
Iâm hoping not. Honestly it makes sense to send out a mass email like this if they are moving the notification date up two weeks since a lot of people would not have known otheewise. But I have read about your theory too.
I was snooping around the thread for Class of 2027. Itâs the same standard email for all applicants. Hope this clarifies for anyone with doubts.
Do you know if anyone who got this was accepted last year?
I saw on Reddit thread someone said they got the email and got in
Oops! Deleted - posted in wrong place.
Everyone should consider themselves to be rejected till the date they are accepted. Feels much better to get positive outcome.
So CMU email is good start ⊠unless you are into positive re-inforcement thinking⊠then brace yourself for impact
Does anyone know what time decisions typically get posted for CMU? Yep - we have been proceeding as if rejected from the beginning. It does help already having a few acceptance on hand. Also, I try to think about the negatives of CMU (i.e. such as cost and no merit) - so when the rejection comes, it doesnât sting as bad.
This year is completely different. They are releasing it in waves and I doubt they will come out at the same time for everyone. my best guess is that theyâll release it morning or afternoon (eastern time) on the day your decision comes out.
Beginning Friday March 15
Does the CMU portal ever have a âwithdrawâ button there? Itâs nowhere to be found there now.
You have to email them to withdraw or at least that was true in FebâŠmy son withdrew after being accepted ED2 to Wesleyan. He emailed them and then they do the withdrawing I guess or send a link. Seems strange they donât just have a button!
My kid received this email two years and was admitted to SCS. No portal astrology with this one.
For those who applied for financial aid, do you have access to the student aid portal or does it still say âStay tunedâŠmore information is coming.â Also, did CMU directly request any tax returns or other documents besides CSS and FAFSA? They donât seem to use idoc for uploading financial documents.
Stay tunedâŠmore information is coming for me. How about u?
