The amount of the federal student loan, so CMU doesn’t offer too much of their fin aid

How was your day at CMU? Did your child like the campus?
Everyone “gets” $5500 their first year, for the federal Stafford student loan. The only question would be whether part of that is subsidized or not.
So does anyone know if the waitlist is binding or not? Still super confused…

It’s better than what I expected. The student guides walked us around the campus and even showed us a dorm room for the kids to visualize the place they will be living in. Campus is beautiful and people are nicer than that from where we live 
Admitted students were allowed to go to in-session classes to experience how it is like in the classroom. The professors are all knowledgeable about the programs offered in the school. DS visited a few schools so far and he specifically told me CMU is his top choice rn. Will see what’s up tomorrow.

We got architecture decision late night last Friday. Looks like released decisions are grouped by school.

No it is a regular waitlist-- “priority” is a marketing term. Non-binding.

Very cool - thanks for the write up. We’re going 4/6 which is a Saturday…guessing no in-person class visits that day. Still looking forward to it.

I hope DS does not love it too much and considers the other cheaper options we have but I am trying to go in with no bias

Oh yeah my bad - we fly there Saturday but our visit is also Sunday the 7th.

My son submitted his WL confirmation on 3/26 am received their notification of receipt via the portal almost instantly.
