Carnegie Mellon Summer Academy for Math and Science (SAMS) and AP/EA 2018

@night123 I wrote mine in a list form, but made it look as professional as I could. I organized them by different categories (Hobbies, work experience, school ec’s, etc). For each activity I am involved in I went into a bit of detail, including what I do in each of them, leadership positions, and how long I have been in the club/job/activity.

Right or wrong thats how I did mine, lol

@night123 One to two sentences should be fine for each activity.

I called and asked them when decisions should start to come out, they told me next week.

Wow, they are very inconsistent with their messages.

@xManWolves I hope that isn’t true, but it would fall in line with the week I got accepted.

Bro you should probably take that down, or at least block out ur personal information

So if I already put my PSAT score on the initial application, do I have to submit my score report or not?

does anybody hear about decision yet?

What should we include in our resume besides our extracurricular activities and awards?

@CoolChem If there is not a pl;ace to upload it, then no.

@Parisien Include a skills section where you talk about your skills.

@sams2018 Allegedly, next week.

I am so nervous cause I forgot to teller to send me her letter of rec and I wont see her till after spring break. I hope she see checks her email tomorrow since it is professional development day for her.

@ak2018 Thanks for your helpful remarks. Is there a process for, and is there any value to, updating an application for positive events in an applicant’s curricular or extracurricular life which occur after the application is turned in?

@jimali Yes, sending new info is always good.

How long does it take to receive acceptance?

@anonymous522083 You can receive an acceptance until mid-April.

Thank you @rlee01 and @ak2018 , but forgive me for being confused because I got a confirmation email that my recommendation letter was received, but I haven’t uploaded it through the supplementary materials portal yet. I’ve already asked my teacher for the document for the letter, so I can resubmit it if necessary. I know these questions are largely pedantic, but I was also curious as how resubmitting materials would work? Would it override the previous one if you did it through the portal?

@violetzerwit I’m not the most experienced in this stuff, but I’m pretty sure that you’re not supposed to see or come into contact with the recommendation letter. At least what happened for me was my teacher sent the recommendation letter directly to CMU via email, which is probably what happened for you too (and also probably why you got that email).

Has anyone been accepted?

@violetzerwit That’s a weird situation. I would just shoot them an email to make sure they got everything.
