Carnegie Mellon Summer Academy for Math and Science (SAMS) and AP/EA 2018

@gothamreal Does your name come up?

Hey guys! Where is everyone from?? I applied to SAMS and I’m from Philadelphia PA

yes

@gothamreal Congrats! Are you excited?
My name didn’t come up. Oh well, I wan’t really expecting to get in anyway

hey help needed who can help messagge me

ps it is an essay for app

@GlitterStar100 I’m from the same general area (won’t get too specific since we’re on an online forum). Do you know if you got into the program?

@Ariadne18 Yes that is the link @thepotatomaster what @gothamreal said is correct… if your name appears and says Department Affiliation"Student Summer Pre-College Program" then that means you most likely got in

Anyone applying for the artificial intelligence program? Any acceptance?is that also on a rolling basis?

How competitive is the ai program?

I applied to the ai program in addition to SAMS, but I haven’t heard anything about acceptance/rejection yet. It’s the first year of the program, so no one knows how competitive it is. I think that acceptances are supposed to come on a rolling basis, however, I’m not entirely sure.

@thejmarie did u get any email?

I didn’t get an email.

someone help me out

@anonymous522083 with what?

Any updates? Did anyone get an email yet?

The link directory.andrew.cmu.edu does work guys. I searched random names and found some students with their department “Summer Pre-College Program” there. But I am not sure are those people applied for the Pre-College program that costs to attend or the programs for minorities, low socioeconomic status, …

I guess the programs for minorities, low background is harder to get in.
My name is not on there yet :’(

Really nervous because my name is not on there yet!!

Think I’m going to call after I get home from school today and see if I can get any information regarding my app/when we will get answers. Will update if I get any news!

Hello! Does anyone know if your application to each program is individual in respect to other programs? I accidentally placed AP/EA as my second choice and I didn’t know the program has tuition. Unfortunately I can’t afford the 10k cost and I am wondering if they will prioritize accepting me into that program? Are applications individual to the program or do they see each and every choice and decide from there? thanks!

I haven’t heard back yet :frowning: @malfoy7

If you applied through the summer opportunities for access and inclusion application, then whatever you are accepted to is free.
