@thepotatomaster@mathnerd1@Ariadne18 Seeing your name on the directory would mean an acceptance. That’s how a few of my friends found out last year. Also, there is a chance that you may get accepted into AP/EA, but without the scholarship, defeating the purpose of the program’s selectivity.
@galaxym It is rolling-based and this is the program’s initial year, so we don’t know how competitive it’ll be. It can be said, however, that being admitted may give you an edge at getting into CMU, especially for their new AI undergrad major as this is a program generally for low-income minorities.
@bhoangluu All pre-college students, including those who paid for the program, will be on that list eventually.
@Daverybest All of the programs have the same app, but are reviewed individually. AP/EA full-tuition scholarships are given based off of high stats/lowest income, so if you fit those characteristics, you’ll get it. They do see each choice.
@astromae2001 it depends on which day you finish your application. My decision might come in April because I submitted everything by January 6th. Also, gotmareal knew he/she was accepted because he called in February and got the news, so it wasn’t surprising he was in the directory.
Yeah same, I wasn’t aware that we had to submit our unofficial PSAT score report as a supporting document (even though I self-reported it as well with the application) so I submitted that today.
Hi all, I’m a SAMS alum along with @ak2018 so feel free to ask me any questions! Congrats to all that see their names in the directories! That is a sign that you are in! To all that don’t see their names, there is still a chance that you will be admitted if the committee hasn’t gotten around to you yet.
I didn’t submit my PSAT official score report because I thought we only need to submit in upon our enrollment. But I did report the score (like typing in the number) in the application.
“Standardized Test Scores - Please self-report your most recent PSAT, SAT, PLAN or ACT within your application. If you haven’t taken any of these tests, we can review your application without test scores. However, we may follow up for your official score report at time of enrollment.”
If I didn’t submit the report, does that mean my application wouldn’t be considered?
Now I am afraid that I won’t get accepted. All the people who got accepted into the program that I heard so far have like a least 1400 on sat and math/science related extracurriculars. I have a 990 on psat, a 4.15 out of 4.5 GPA, President of one club out of 6 extracurriculars that don’t relate to science at all
The only thing good about me is my background which is that a first gen Nigerian Immigrant with an autistic brother
Also MITES is really hard to get into as well
Same, my SAT score was a 1160 (first time taken, didnt study as much as I could have) I am however a 4.0 (well, ~3.96 because of one B freshman year, lol) student from a low economic rural area, so I’m hoping that helps :))
I didn’t send official score reports, were you supposed to?? I typed in my SAT score in the application. As well, my school transcript I sent had my (not the greatest) ACT score (SAT hadn’t been sent to my school yet)
