@bhoangluu I’m pretty sure sams but I’m not exactly sure I’d have to double check somehow if that’s possible haha
Hey guys,
How are you able to access the application portal? I can’t seem to access where to put in my user and pass. I’m trying to go on the portal and put the screenshots of my test scores since apparently that’s necessary now??
But it keeps saying the application is closed and I don’t know how to be directed to the portal where I can upload the supporting documents
(I’ve had my application, essays, recs, etc in since february)
@astromae2001 I do it through the email they send you giving you the portal info.
I sent my application in around a month ago but haven’t gotten a responce. Should I be worried?
Just realized I didnt upload score reports since I havent been on the website since february… rip
Wait sat scores aren’t required right?
@galaxym Nope, some of us applying are sophomores who haven’t taken the SAT yet.
@chunkylegs @malfoy7 Yes, you will be notified, likely sometime in late April/early May, that you have either been rejected or taken off the waitlist. If this is anything like last year, unless you call them, you will not be notified that you have been waitlisted. Receiving an email during those times will not automatically mean a rejection nor an acceptance.
@bbq5ue @278hl Congrats! I have PM’ed you some info about the summer pre-college programs. You’ll likely have to wait for the email to see which programs you got into, but either way, congrats to you both. You could call or email them on Monday to check which program you got into before an email arrives, if you wanted. If you guys end up getting into the AI program, it’s still a great opportunity. I talked with one of the people in the CompSci department who knew of the plans for the AI program for years and he said that the program is “step #1” as they announce their plans to be one of the first schools in the nation where you can major in AI. If you guys end up wanting to attend CMU in the future, this would definitely be seen a step in the right direction.
@curiousa3 I agree with @bbq5ue Go ahead and take a screenshot of the new scores and email to them.
@atomicapple0 No, you shouldn’t. They will continue to email decisions to students until around the end of next month.
@galaxym No, ACT/PLAN and PSAT scores are good too.
If I haven’t received an email at this point, is it more likely to be on the waitlist or to have not been reviewed yet? I know this question is essentially impossible to answer, but I’m just nervous about not hearing anything back at this point.
@thejmarie This question is quite hard to answer, but I will say that you only have to wait a little while longer. Try to keep checking the directory and you can keep checking with the staff. Since you could really hear at anytime until late April, I’d recommended doing something other than worrying about it such as investing into EC’s. Something to take your mind off of it. Sorry I couldn’t really be of much help with your question.
@ak2018 When are AI decisions coming out?
@Mahindra I unfortunately have no word on when they would release decisions as they are not the same people who work on SAMS admissions and this is the program’s initial year. I could guess, however, that you likely will receive a decision around the end of April.
I went ahead and downloaded my SAT score report and sent an email to them. Don’t know if it is too late, but I figured I better be safe than sorry.
Still haven’t gotten a decision back yet…
@ak2018 Ok thanks
@ak2018 wow thank you! So helpful
Hey guys I was accepted to SAMS!!!
SAT : 1410 and 1510
GPA : 3.7 uw
I just got my acceptance letter around 9 for SAMS! Does anyone have information about the group chat on GroupMe? Lmk, thanks!
Congrats to both of you accepted today! Do you mind sharing when you got your application materials in? Thanks!
Ok so I know a lot of people have gotten their acceptance e-mails, but has anyone actually recieved a rejection e-mail yet? Or do those come out at a later time? (I know this has probably been asked already lol)
When I called today they said “there is no decision yet…” I feel like this means I’ve been rejected, but I’m wondering if anyone has called the office and been told they were actually rejected?
My other question, especially for @ak2018 is, since I just got my SAT score back of 1550 (760 EBRW and 790 Math), should I submit that now even though I have already sent a 1490 (740 EBRW and 750 Math) PSAT?
Thanks!
