Congrats to those who got in today! When did you all submit your materials?
@redisys I submitted my application in January and my supporting documents the last week of February.
I still got nothing yet
I submitted everything (sans the SAT score) by Feb 12th too
Yep, nothing for me too. AI 1st AP/EA 2nd
Nothing here for SAMS.
Started 12/19/17, Submitted 2/28/18, and supporting documents finalized in 3/14/18.
If your name isn’t in the directory atm, does it mean that you’re rejected? I submitted the application pretty much when it was due
@Hermalez exact same boat. Application done 2/26 and documents finalized in 3/14. I think we might receive decisions in the same wave @sammy7301 I think the first ones to submit get in, so therefore us procrastinators will just have to wait longer. Definitely don’t consider yourself out just yet. Is it likely the majority of the spots will be filled in? probably but there is still hope.
When do the decisions usually come out?
I just checked and I’m in the directory!!! Hopefully for Sams!!
They are released on a rolling basis and all should be released by mid/late April. @smartypants308
What does it look like when you’re in the directory? For some reason I share a name with someone in the compsci department. Does it say Precollege?
@MyGPAIsAnL Yes, it says “Summer Pre-College Program”
@redisys I started 01/12 and finished 2/5. I turned in my transcript at the beginning of Feb and everything else at the beginning of March.
hey so for some reason I can’t pm @ak2018 but I think I got into SAMS ( I’m in the directory…could be APEA but I really hope not bc I can’t afford that but I am pretty confident its SAMS) and I have a few questions.
How hard are the classes and what math would you recommend for someone in CALC AB
What activities do you do in the Pittsburgh area
How much money do you as a former student actually recommend taking
How was the campus /dorm/food lol
sorry for a bunch of questions
@succeed1253 First off, congrats! Hopefully you did get into SAMS, however, since you did apply through the Summer Inclusion application, it means you wouldn’t have to pay for either.
- The classes are pretty hard and require a good amount of studying. It will function as a normal summer college class, but much more rigorous as well as fast. I would recommend studying up on your pre-calc and Calc to try to either go for Calc 2 or the proof-based math class called Concepts of math, which is harder than Calc.

- The dorm was pretty hot, so you'll need a fan and the campus was pretty fun and looked really good. This should answer any questions on food. The buffet was of pizza, chicken wings, and spaghetti. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/21317769#Comment_21317769
If our names aren’t in the directory, is it a pretty safe bet we didn’t make it?
@smileamile3142 We should wait a little while longer because the decisions will probably keep coming out till the end of May, but our chances aren’t looking so good tbh because spots are filling up
Do you guys know how to see the directory with the list of names?
@RayJuly https://directory.andrew.cmu.edu/index.cgi Just type your name in and see if it pops up.
Here’s the link to the directory:
