@chicreation pretty sure you were supposed to upload them. Maybe you still can if they haven’t made a decision on your app yet.
@chicreation They take your word for it, it won’t affect you if you are truthful. It’s likely that after you’re admitted, they want verification. You are fine I believe
I am a bit confused with all the summer programs CMU offers. My son, a sophomore, is very interested in the game academy. Does anyone know how different it is from these other programs folks on this thread are waiting acceptance for? The game academy seems pretty easy to get in.
@whataboutcollege I applied for game academy as a third choice. From my understanding it’s just another program, but if you pay to go your chances are pretty good. The people on this forum applied under the Summer inclusion program which is free, therefore more competitive
@MyGPAIsAnL thanks for the clarification. I went back and checked the diversity and inclusion program. We won’t qualify but I can see why it would be a very competitive offering. It is great CMU offers such a nice option for young and bright students. Good luck to anyone who is still waiting for decisions. As far as the regular application, my son submitted his last piece, the essay at night, and received the admission email the very next morning. He is still waiting result from another program, so we are holding off on deposit. Anyone has insights about game academy? Does it worth the 10k price tag?
@whataboutcollege Personally, I think that college and these summer programs are what you make of it. If the price ta is such a burden to the point where your son really isn’t genuinely appreciative of the opportunity, maybe there’s better things to put that money to. If it is a life-changing experience, a timeless summer that he’ll remember for the rest of his life, go for it. I can’t attest to what game academy is going to be like. In my mind it is similar to traveling. You’re buying an experience (not to say I haven’t gotten sunburned on some terrible vacations ).
What does it mean if your name is in the directory
I think it means you were accepted but i’m not sure. Can you post the link to the directory plz?
@whataboutcollege I agree with @MyGPAIsAnL . These programs really are what you make of them. However, I will say that if you’re more interested in the competitiveness of the program and how it will help him get into college, I probably wouldn’t spend that much money though.
@pandasnake123 It would mean that you got accepted.
if my name is in the directory but the name is super common, is there any way of checking the details of the person with my name listed in the directory?
@nicekid If your name appears right next to the words “Summer Pre-College”, or something similar, you can usually assume it’s you. If there are multiple similar names, there is no way to know for sure unless you call/email them or wait for an email.
@nicekid if you’re comfortable, do you mind posting your stats?
Has anyone received a SAMS decision?
No decision here yet. I’m wondering if it’s a no, but they’re just waiting to send out all the “no’s” at once?
Has anyone gotten a rejection?
Congrats to all who’ve been accepted!
Maybe they’re just holding off to see how many people put in deposits in order to waitlist people rather than straight up reject
Can someone call office of admissions and ask when results will be out?
@plp000 haha they’re not the best, is there a way of pming you?
@malfoy7 I called and they said by the end of the week.
Would they send rejection emails also? @nicekid
@Taurino2001 They didn’t say, but I believe so.
