@whatiskkaebsong I mean yes and no… I’m not exactly sure but there could be several different situations, one being where yeah you turned yours in later than most people yet they still believed you should be accepted despite the space constraints, I’m not really sure specifically it just depends to be honest, but a lot of the emails have some of the same parts so even though it may sound like that it could be anything, I was also waitlisted for AP/EA tho so hopefully we both get in!!
@MyGPAIsAnL That guy might have been rejected for SAMS and thought it was AI. I don’t know about the website being doing as a sign.
@whatiskkaebsong You were waitlisted. It does not mean that you would’ve been selected if you submitted earlier. The only reason we can attribute to you being waitlisted is that they simply favored other applicants.
This is the answer from a staff in the Office of Admission regarding AI decisions:
"Greetings,
The Office of Admission should have released decisions late this week, or early next week by the latest.
Good luck!
Best, "
“should have”
@bhoangluu when was this received?
To raise the question again: Has anyone here received any decision in regards to AI? Even a likely letter would be a good sign
I commented right after I received it.
any one now any other Summer stem programs with deadlines that have not yet passed
@anonymous522083 all of the really good ones are gone now.
I just called. And I quote, “AI is letting the students know today. You should receive an email this afternoon.”
@Alevander – thanks for checking and letting us know. Hopefully this time, it will really happen! Perhaps all this persistent calling has encouraged them to finally respond.
Soooo I haven’t received anything yet :’) Did anyone else get any updates?
Also, if we don’t get into AI but we applied to AP/EP, shouldn’t we have already gotten a AP/EP rejection already?
i just called them and they said decisions aren’t out yet, but they are expecting them to be out by this friday.
Lmao? are random people just walking into admissions and answering these questions? This is very confusing but also entertaining.
@plp000, you previously said you had called and got rejected from AI and SAMS. Did they specifically say that you had been rejected from AI over the phone or did you just assume you had been rejected from both programs? Also, it doesn’t seem like AI will be in the directory like the other programs – maybe because it is only 3 weeks.
When I called to ask for a decision, they said i was rejected from “both the programs I applied to” so I assumed i was rejected from AI and SAMS, my first 2 choices. But then I called again later when people started saying that AI decisions weren’t out yet and the lady told me that there was no decision on my AI application yet…
@plp000 that is terrible that you are getting mixed messages. Has anyone called today to get a status update? Also are we just waiting for AI — has everything else been decided (except for waitlists)?
I just got an email from one of their admissions officers that I had emailed previously, he mentioned that AI decisions were released yesterday and that we should be getting notified soon about them.
Decisions for AI are out. I was wrong – AI students are included in the directory at https://directory.andrew.cmu.edu/
