Anyone got offered today?
I haven’t read the latest posts in this thread but I’m dropping by just to let y’all know in case no one has gotten this info yet.
For Dietrich people: I was on the priority waitlist for both MCS and Dietrich and I got off the waitlist for MCS. I wanted to be in Dietrich instead so I asked the admissions officer if I could still be considered for Dietrich on Wednesday and he said Dietrich’s spots have been filled since they weren’t looking for many students. Sorry for being the bearer of potentially bad news but I doubt there would be any more spots unless some of the people who were offered one declined.
I wish you all the best!
Thanks for letting us know! I don’t get why they couldn’t just send us an email letting us know Dietrich is full.
oh well guess I’m going to u Rochester instead. lol
I thought they will email us when they filled up the spots.
Yeah sorry guys, I don’t know either. That’s just what the admissions officer told me.
What major did you apply to Dietrich for?
They prob dont work on weekends. maybe thats why there isnt much news of someone getting offered?
Any chance for Information Systems still?
RIP for Dietrich
Suddenly, the forum becomes so quiet…
I applied for DS in Dietrich and am on the PWL, but doesn’t look like there’s much hope after the recent messages in this forum.
Yea I was really hoping to get in but it seems like there were’t spots to begin with for Dietrich. At lest we all tried our best,.
@archimedes17 What is DS? What school have you committed to?
I wonder if they’re keeping PWL open and trying to decide if they should offer more spots since the chance of International kids being able to get out here is so low at the moment, which really sucks but I guess if your local it means more spots for them.
My dad’s alumni and said that they’ve sent out emails talking about how much money they’re losing due to COVID-19. Maybe they’re looking to increase class size so they get more money?
Ohh that’s good
@Clairegearhart I don’t think that’s how it works. The larger the class size also means you have to spend more money on them, especially if the remaining committed students aren’t full pay. It does make sense to admit people who don’t need financial aid, but I don’t see them doing that because of limited housing and resources. It makes more sense for them to keep the same cap and accept off the waitlist by a pattern (full pay kid, then a financial needy kid to balance it out).
That’s true I hadn’t thought of that
I guess the question is though what about all the students who won’t be able to get back. The already admitted ones not from the PWL?
I wonder if anyone is pulling out and committing to different colleges.
Idk lol, but it’s making me worried we aren’t hearing anything and the 8th has already passed.
I guess no news is better than a rejection but it’s stressful for sure.
Any news about the engineering PWL yet?
