Starting to panic. D has great stats. Great ECs but is waitlisted. I know CWRU is nobody’s safety anymore, but when your kid has a 1550, you think things will go their way. You don’t expect nothing but pain. This is so so awful.

@GingerLand since you are out of state, it could be that you daughter was yield-protected, especially since she has very high stats. also, did she do an alumni interview? those are extremely important to CWRU
My S waitlisted (engineering). 'International" graduating from US high school. Applied for Financial aid. 3.97 (Unweighted GPA), 8 Aps , SAT 1550, 3 subject tests (all 800) average EC (with Varsity sport).
S, Deferred then waitlisted. 35 ACT, 4.3 GPA, great extracurrulars, NMF. Just don’t get what they are looking for and why not accepted
@d00td00t she requested an interview. She visited campus. She wrote a note thanking them for a great experience. She replied to an email. She called about a status issue. I’m wicked worried she commited some faux pas in her application, although I can’t tell you what it is. She has great awards for art, first chair trumpet, international design competition. She started an after school STEM program for elementary kids. But. She wrote her main essay on the transformational effects of being diagnosed with T1D. She also asked a teacher I don’t know very well to do a rec. CWRU was our bellwether. We expect straight rejections from here on in. I wish to god we could get an explanation. It would give us closure.
Wait listed. OOS from VA. ACT 36 (one sitting),11 APs, 4.3GPA, 800 SAT2 Math, SAT Chem 770, strong medical ECs. We could not visit campus and did not get alumni interview. Biology major.
My D is really upset, who really wanted to goto Case to further her neuro research and go to MD.
@GingerLand wow, that’s unfortunate. well, I am sure your daughter will prove all of these schools wrong, no matter which school she attends!
@DSOF20192023. We are in the same boat. Loved Case. And really have nowhere else to go as of now.
hi guys! got deferred then accepted!!! but they gave me the worst financial aid. my question is: if i ve applied to the separate application scholarships, are they supposed to come later on or with my admission letter?
D got in. OOS. She did not visit campus and did not get alumni interview. She received university scholarship award, $32500 per year. Thank you, CWRU.
