We are so confused, DS is RD and he received emails to register for admitted students events/days as well as a banquet for “diverse students” which he is. He even went through with signing up and it worked. Could this be a mistake?
I suggest a call to the admissions office tomorrow to ask what these emails indicate. You could ask if they were sent to all who applied.

She’s an astrophysics/aerospace engineering kid and has been accepted at Purdue, Pittsburgh and Georgia Tech— plus her safer schools. She was rejected at Chicago. Still waiting to hear back from Case and three RD schools.
We just get the traditional “here’s what you can do at Case” email. Her EA application was deferred and she reapplied RD
Did anyone here who applied RD get an email yesterday to register for admitted student event/days? It was sent to both myself and DS and we were also sent for the Unity Banquet as well (which in the email it states it is for admitted students)? It is too early for RD decision, but this would be so upsetting and misleading. It literally has his name, my name, and states these events are to welcome admitted students.
I sent an email in about it. Wonder if any RD candidates here received this?

I didnt get that email. We are RD (Business Major). Maybe major specific or I am on the reject list (maybe)
As I mentioned upthread, Droid2 is RD and received it. Let us know if they respond to your inquiry

Welp, looks like the mail merge gurus at Case continue to screw up. My accepted droid just received an “oops retraction” email. But my yet to receive a decision RD droid did not get the retraction.
Sigh.
I know I shouldn’t let this sort of stuff weigh heavily, if at all, on my view of a school. But, sheesh.
Same here - they sent a sincerest apologies email for sending in error. It had his name on it - that is terrible for morale.

I think it must be some new employee(s) or system change. There were no such errant emails last year. I bet some senior people in admissions are steamed about this. I wouldn’t let it sour you on case (though the vast number of emails is consistent with previous years and that sours some folks).

Well we received a correction to the incorrect correction
So, in the end, my EA-accepted Droid is invited to the banquet. And, in the interim, my “yet to receive a decision RD droid” received the correct correction, retracting the invitation to same.
The note to us was not a form email, which helped a great deal.

S24 just got an email from CWRU that they are discontinuing the major he applied for (Systems & Control Engineering). It will only be offered as a minor beginning this fall. But they have over 100 other majors he can consider… 
Oh wow. That must be so disconcerting!
(I know tons of kids switch majors, often more than once, but still).

Are we still confident that Case will release RD decisions (especially for the deferred kids who’ve been waiting forever) on March 16? It seems like their Admissions office is a bit chaotic compared to the other schools where she’s been admitted.
Not sure why you’d describe it as chaotic? Over communicative as a school? 100%!
Their website still says 3/16 and I see no particular reason to doubt that.
Well, they’ve had to retract two emails that were sent in error since January and it took over a month and two follow up emails for her admissions counselor to reply to an email asking for guidance on her deferral response. I’d say that’s not ship shape.
I grew up in Cleveland. I understand people’s devotion to this school but I haven’t been impressed with how they handled her deferral decision at all. After visiting and meeting people in person and getting recruited hard with stats that are well above the mean of previously admitted students. I understand it’s competitive but she’s a competitive candidate.
