Case Western Reserve Early Action / Early Decision for Fall 2024 Admission

I agree, they seem completely disorganized and rather disingenous with all the emails and admission games.

We have also been confused by some of the emails. Is that a new occurrence this year?

I would think if anything that the misstep on the banquet email means that they’ll 100% get it right on decision day. It may be before 3/16, but I’ll believe it’s after that only when I see it.

Last year they announced on Saturday 3/18 at 12pm, so it might be this Saturday at that same time!

Yup confirmed tomorrow (Sat, 3/16, noon)

Admitted after shifting to RD. $27,500 per year merit scholarship which still makes it a very pricey option. Good luck to all!

Nonetheless, congrats on the great acceptance - and I’m sure there are other affordable ones (most important).

PS - have they provided need too (not sure if you have) - so might more $$ be coming?

Just looked back at an original thread - so money was brought up as a concern with the $45K budget but that’s assuming full pay.

Admitted after deferred from EA. Received $30k merits. Totally a surprise on the merit.

Droid2 admitted RD, same mid-$30s merit as Droid1 EA award.

No need based aid coming here. Our son is a Sophomore elsewhere so trying to stay in a budget for both.

Just curious - what are the current affordable options?

Case is generous with merit for students it wants

Son was deferred then WL. I don’t know if it makes a difference that they emailed him a couple of weeks ago and said they are discontinuing his major. It was an opportunity for him to email back that he was still very interested in CWRU, but he chose not to do that. :grimacing:

Guys - were these RD decisions? We did not receive a decision?

Why study where you can’t study what you want?

It’s nice they made him aware (probably not a good ROI for them with resources needing to cover few students) - and it’s nice he accepted that and move on. That’s fair on both sides.

Yes RD for us.

Pitt HC, UMass Amherst HC, UGA HC, S Carolina HC are affordable. Some LACs like Loyola Ch and Saint Louis U are affordable. Northeastern Boston Campus is another that is unaffordable.

wow - so great affordable acceptances where he can presumably still study what he wants. Maybe check that though - if it’s a small major, is in in danger.

Hopefully he loves some of those - very different than CWRU.

I look forward to watching the journey.

Accepted with $27.5k merit after being deferred. Happy with the acceptance after the expected UCLA rejection.
