Did anyone receive response yet for the ED1 applications? My daughter did EA so we are still fingers crossed!
I saw some on Reddit. D25 is also awaiting EA. Hoping itās the 21st (or even earlier)
Our Daughter was accepted ed1 with $29,000/yr university scholarship
Unweighted gpa 3.94
sat 1510 (super score) 1480 non-super score
Wow⦠ED $29K⦠thatās great!!! Side note⦠thanks for sharing. I thought theyād give a LOT more for ED to ensure yield (i.e. so higher chance of attending if getting an offer). Only reason I say that⦠DS from two years back went EA route and accepted with lower stats and got a $27k/yr scholarship (kind equivalent with inflation). Okay, this really opens my eyes up on ED scholarships are about the same⦠something to consider for my youngest son when he applies.
They give the same merit to ED, EA or RD according to the Admissions office.
Also for ED, you are committing to attend so they donāt need to worry about yield.
Good to know!! And an āah haā moment with the ED being committed so not worry about yield⦠obvious but just a light bulb moment for me.
I just want to double check if this is the portal where the decision will come out from : https://go.case.edu/apply/status. My D25 applied for EA. I know decisions wonāt come through until later this week but just wondering if that is the right portal. Thanks.
Yes I believe this is the correct place to check. Weirdly, two people posted on Reddit that they already got decisions via email. One was told they were deferred but would be accepted if they converted to ED. And the other was denied possibly bc of a missing transcript. I obviously donāt know the details but itās interesting that some are getting personal emails
The one was denied is a transfer. She posted here too.
Hello! My son applied EA and I was just curious if there was an actual date/time that decisions will come out? Last I heard was āon or beforeā December 21. Thanks and good luck to all!
Ah thank you for the clarification. So it was just the one then
It looks like last year they came out on Tuesday the 19th, Iām hoping for tomorrow or Thursday. My daughter applied to EA for nursing.
Howās everyone doing? This email made it real, and somehow a two day wait feels longer than all the previous months. We LOVE this school just hope we demonstrated it enough (had to cancel our family Cleveland trip due to Covid) but my son attended an info session at his school and virtual events. FINGERS CROSSED and good luck to us all
Two years back DS23 had EA released on a Thursday evening the week prior to Xmas⦠so this seems to be CWRU general schedule!!!
This is interesting. If I didnāt receive this email, does it mean admitted or reject, no defer to me?
Iām pretty nervous for Thursday after my son was rejected from his ED1 choice. It was a longshot but of course you still hold out hope. He is very excited about CWRU and would absolutely love to attend and I am just trying to prepare myself for all potential options as I do think heāll be super bummed to be rejected twice in the same week from his 2 favorite schools!
Iām pretty nervous too. My son has received a few acceptances, but to lesser schools and Case is his top choice. Iād say he has a 50-50 chance for Case, and I know heāll feel terrible if it doesnāt go his way.
If itās any comfort to anyone else, Iām a college professor at a school less esteemed than Case and I can say that all of this matters less than we think. I see our grads go on to all levels of success, however you choose to define it. A smart, hard-working, well-adjusted kid at School X is a smart, hard-working, well-adjusted kid at School Y, and the future is bright either way.
I am mostly nervous about the fact that it seems like Case plays games with EA, really hoping my daughter gets accepted and not deferred as it truly is one of her favorites!
Has anyone have experience of getting merit scholarship during the EA phase?
