I am leaving that mess, the bedrooms (OMG! They are bad) and the laundry room. Also not cleaning his bathroom since we never touched it
Meanwhile, we put new flooring in the master closet. When I went in there to clear things off the floor there were boxes of wadded clothing. I asked Son if they were his Mother’s and should I hang them up? He announced he didn’t know what they were. On closer inspection he mumbled they were his clothes. Why? Why does he have wadded clothes in his Mom’s closet?
And there is a little screened in patio off master bedroom. It’s full of more crap. He claimed it was his Stepfather’s crap. So I started to clear it up to find out Ohh, that’s mine, that’s mine, those boxes of wadded up clothes are mine. I gave up and left the mess
My older brother was/is like that. He has bags and bags of dirty clothes. He just continues to buy new. I don’t know if he is still like that; this was during a bad time for him and we had to move him from one apartment to another. He had access to a washer, but rarely used it.
A lot of liquor bottles too. Isn’t the kid under age 21, not that anyone in his family cares, but he could be routinely high one way or another. That does impair judgment……plus his brain hasn’t fully developed consequences recognition yet.
He just graduated from San Diego State in May. I think he has some type of job doing website maintenance for a local car part place or something. He’s gone on some days when he is not on vacation. He’s into cars and has car part crap everywhere in the driveway
Over the past year working on the house I have seen evidence of a lot of big parties. That’s how the carpet in the house got completely trashed
@coralbrook did you find someone to work on that crazy low voltage wiring? I saw a photo of the switch and your comment. We had some of that stuff going… Mr. just ripped it out and used switch extensions wherever needed. You might have already seen this…
Thank you so much for the website with switches. Problem is my electrician is not familiar with that type of wiring. I called several electricians and they won’t work on it. I found one electrician and forwarded to owners so they could hire him to do what they wanted
I was merely trying to upgrade the buttons and plates because they are all yellowed and painted over. So tried to buy some online and they just didn’t work. There is no manufacturer on the existing boxes so I gave up
Yes she arrived. Have received several communications on ‘stellar job’. It was a very expensive remodel and she’s probably got sticker shock because I just sent a spreadsheet with costs for last 2 1/2 weeks
We still have some loose ends. Need to touch up paint areas and they have added some things for new work.
We have been waiting for a new special order exterior door. I scheduled delivery for Friday (today) when I knew they would be home to accept delivery. On Wednesday I was leaving about 5 and some delivery company just dropped the door at the bottom of the driveway!! It was way too heavy for me to pick up so I had to leave a message to son and his friend to please move it at least into the shed at bottom of steep driveway
The guests had to cancel so it’s just Mom and Step Dad and they changed arrival to Thursday. Thank God because when I left on Wednesday the kids had managed to completely mess up the new kitchen, I found Mom’s sheets in a dirty wad shoved into a cabinet, everything still in exact same condition. My understanding is they were planning to clean up Thursday morning before plane arrived.
We are back in there on Wednesday to do more work. I’ll see what it looks like
CB, so wise for you to not even try to tackle the door! The builder of our House1 had to go into PT when he wrecked his back by trying to haul our house’s custom door down the long driveway.
