And nothing comes closer to breaking my heart…ND wastes another chance to regain the old glory days…

But it’s always the very best bonding experience, mother-and-son.

But it’s always the very best bonding experience, mother-and-son.

I’m with you, Bullet. Best sporting event EVER! I always list it in my top five favorite sporting events. Final Four weekend is on my Bucket List~

OU beat G’town!!! My DD and I are dancing in the living room–Amazing since OU did so poorly during the regular season. Keep going, Bobcats and make it to the Final Four!!!

The upsets keep on comin’. the 11 -Washington over the 6-Marquette. Yikes that killed my bracket as I had Marquette getting past the second round as well.

Big East = Big Disappointment :(

Panhandle, same here for Pima and myself, but only if the Terps are in the mix (missed our chances a few years back). Only other two sporting events we would add to “the list”?

President’s Cup (Pro Golfers actually going nuts for team-mates? Who’da thunk it?)

Winter Olympics (We crossed THAT off the list at Torino 4 years ago. Trip of a lifetime)

But man, I love this weekend. 4 days of upsets, miracles, and heart-break. And the chance to scream “Holy Cow! Did you SEE that!” at the top of your lungs every few hours. Priceless.

(Oh, and thank GOODNESS for streaming connections on the net. Work productivity is at an all time low in my cubicle. All I need now is a hibachi and a cooler!)

Didn’t see that Georgetown loss coming…but happy with the Huskies upset of Marquette. What a great first day of the first round of play. These early games have been amazing.

Kansas is losing right now to 16 seed. This won’t happen.

After what we’ve seen already, I won’t count anything out! But it’s looking like Kansas has finally shown up.

I am starting to wonder if that long Big East tournament last week took a lot out of some of those teams. We’ll see how Pitt, West Virginia and Syracuse do tomorrow…

A 16 seed has never won, but if a Patriot League team can pull it off it would be great (even though I have Kansas winning the whole thing)

Bobby Knight is really opposed to conference tournaments for that very reason. I can only hope the SEC tournament took it out of Kentucky, but probably no such luck.

So sad for the Commodores! However…we are sending super great player to join them next year from here in VA…so hope for more exciting play next round

Actually can cross that one off of my bucket list. H and I were at the finals when Indiana State (Larry Bird) played against Michigan State (Magic Johnson). DePaul (Mark Aguirre) played Penn in the consolation game. Don’t even want to think about how many years ago that was…

Does the number of games that were decided by a single point seem unusual at this stage?

I think the announcers mentioned that there were more games decided in OT or by a single point already than there were all of last year.

Rachacha - that theory will be tested today - we’ll see how Syracuse does.

My question is - how does Orchestramom have two of her three brackets in the top group? She must have an in with the basketball gods ;)

You’re not alone. I heard on Bloomberg radio yesterday that March Madness costs businesses $1.3 billion in lost productivity! Ouch, my first entree into this pool and I could use a life preserver!

LOL, I just checked my brackets from yesterday and see that I fell to 11 out of 16 games correct in both my brackets, so I thought well that puts me toward the bottom. Well, not exactly. There’s a bunch of us tied for #1 with that same amount! I can remember in the past getting through the first day at 16 out of 16 and the second day at 15 out of 16. This is crazy!

And as QuantMech noted, these were the days of several blowouts, not OT games. It really is madness (and an awful lot of heart and hard work by the underdogs!)

Yet there are 20 people on the Overall Yahoo standings that have 16 out of 16. How on earth did they do that?

Marquette got screwed getting sent out West as a 6 seed so the 11 seed Huskies can have a virtual home game.
Had the pleasure of going to the Final Four in New Orleans in 2003. One of the best trips ever.

^^^No way is the Udub playing in San Jose a home game.

Now that Arizona-Illinois game at Rosemont, Ill. in 2005, that’s a home game.
