1214mom, do you rent that balcony when it’s not whale season?
@dragonmom… No balcony in Maui normally. Just spending 8 days here and then 5 in Kauai, then back to the East Coast freezing cold weather. But going to Big Beach made me happy today. “Our” beach was recently seriously degraded by a storm. But its still lovely, and warm.
We love Maui…we always stay at the same tiny condo complex ( Hale Mahina) and hands down, my favorite time of day is early morning on the lanai. Beautiful view, yummy coffee…sigh. I’d love to go back right now.
It was 6 degrees here when I got up, but spring is only six or so weeks away.
That’s the best I can do for “happy” right now.
Only 5 weeks until we get to dip in the ocean off the Hawaii shores! 
Well I wish I had some palm trees in sight. But today I trekked out to get sandwiches and dessert at a special bakery in a different part of my side of town and felt like I’d escaped! After it snows so hard, first bright moment, everyone is out. The bakery was full of people sitting and chatting. Nice.
Also, TonyK’s thread about old, old Sat Night Live episodes running on VH1 made me happy. Some posters remembering fav skits.
I can tell that my physical therapy is dramatically improving my hip pain. (It’s tendonitis that I’ve had for at least a year.) And, I have delightful conversations with my therapist while she massages the area.

Was able to get our CCard Company (CapitolOne) to waive the $59 annual fee for the credit card! We get 2% back on all cahrges in cash, so that is a help. I was going to have to cancel the card if they wouldn’t waive the fee, but they did – last year and this year.
I crossed the street, and the bus (which is usually either very late or super early!) magically appeared. Loved my 30-second wait time!
Just got and completed a survey and will be receiving a complimentary pair of my favorite socks, usually retailing at $14.95 + tax. 
Lavender in full bloom and I counted 7 hummingbirds in my garden. :bz :bz :bz :bz Far too many bees and butterflies to count.
Wow–never have seen more than 2 hummingbirds at any one time!
It’s only 10am and I’ve already gotten a haircut and had my oil changed!
@himom – ever since we put in a little fountain that bubbles, we have had an abundance of hummingbirds. they love to sit in the bubble and clean their feathers. They are very friendly and curious. If i stand in the front garden with a running hose, they will come right up to the nozzle in my hand, take a drink and pause to look up at my face. I swear that they know us
My SisIL had a feeder in her patio in SF. There was one who would feed there and aggressively chase any others daring to approach HIS feeder.
Ds2 called this morning to wish me a HVD, but he really wanted my advice on what to get the girl he’s not dating.
I have noticed the same as you HImom with the hummingbirds in my yard. I was told that they tend to be territorial. I used to have a feeder , but I stopped filling it because it was attracting wasps. I Buy flowers that attract them instead and I have a butterfly bush in my front yard that attracts all kinds of lovelies .I can’t wait until they are back !
