CCM Drama audition question

Hello!
I am a senior this year and I have been working on college stuff all summer. CCM is one of my top schools. I am an actress and I will be majoring in theatre/drama.
There is a cattle call audition on nov 17th that I will be attending and CCM will be there.
at this audition you only get 1.5 minutes to perform 2 contrasting monologues and thats not very much time at all. If they do not call me back at this audition I want to reaudition.
I am going to chicago unifieds on feb 6th-8th and they will be there. the problem is it costs $110 to apply so I dont want to waste my money on unifieds if they call me back at the cattle call audition.
the app deadline is december 1st and that is when they give you your audition date/time.
my question is:
does anyone know if its too risky to wait until november 17th to submit my application?
how soon do the slots for ccm at unifieds fill up?

I don’t know where your cattle call audition is at, but I’ve done the Las Vegas Unified two times now and its a cattle call audition. If I were you I would hold out on applying to the school till you do that audition. If they don’t call you back, don’t be sad. Most of the time they only call back kids they know they want. My drama teacher always told me to go and talk to the school towards the end of call backs. Ask them why you didn’t get a call back and feel the situation out. If they tell you your not good enough you saved a ton of money, but they may say you need to do certain things better and you can prepare for the re audition. Hope that helped!

I’m a sophomore performance major at Fordham University, and I actually went through an identical situation with CCM. I auditioned through them at a “cattle call” without applying and was admitted on the spot. Out of the 50 of us, 5 were admitted that day (without the fee!). However, once they had “admitted” me, I still had to apply and pay and whatnot, but I had the peace of mind knowing that I would be accepted.

That being said, I decided I didn’t want to pursue the BFA path.

So my advice is to do the cattle call, see how you feel, and then decide to apply and audition at Unifieds based on that.

Where was/ is this cattle call at?

Mine was hosted by the Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts. I did the intensive in 2009.

How early in the year was your cattle call?

I got accepted :)

actingchick; i’m assuming you’re talking about north texas drama?
and i did too!!! congrats!!!

Major congratulations, you guys!!! What a great feeling, so early in the year!

Has anyone heard back about Drama acceptances for Fall 2012? If so what date and where did you audition?

Yes I have heard back. They accepted me when I auditioned in november in Dallas but I didn’t get my formal acceptance letter until early January

I haven’t heard back yet. My auditioner told me that he was going to put in a recommendation for my acceptance but I’m not exactly sure what that means? Still waiting.
