thanks a lot broseph :)

I’d say you have pretty good chances at all of those schools. Your EC’s aren’t the greatest but they’re certainly not bad. You should do great in admissions.

Good luck broseph :-)

Thanks Proski. This white boy thanks you dearly

You = beast.
I would say in everywhere fersure except Yale/Harvard/MIT which are still distinct possibilities. Any volunteer hours?

Not quite. Focusing on academics doesn’t leave much time for other stuff. I am president of our school’s Cum Laude Society whose focus is to tutor students from out school so by the time i send in my applications I should have about 100 hours totaled up.

Bu-Bu-bump it up!

Bumpity Bump Bump,…Bump Bump!!

man **** u got these schools in the bag

bump bump 10char

Why do you have 3 different threads???

As others have said, your ECs are not impressive by Harvard/Yale/Princeton/MIT standards, but your academics are SUPERB. I think that your passion for economics (your planned subject) is demonstrated by your internship and your classes at Drexel, so that should help you a lot. I’d say that your chances are very good at UPenn, Cornell, Columbia, and Chicago. Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and MIT are difficult for everyone, but I would expect you to get into at least one of those.

You are awesome, man. You hit the nail right on the head and that is exactly what I am hoping for. Thank you so much for your input, I really appreciate it.

bu-bump it up!

Here is what stands out to me:

“tied with 8 for Valedictorian”

What does that say about your school and quality of teachers? It says that they are too lazy to grade students and slaps on ridiculous amounts of A’s on that orange sheet of paper known as a report card. The GPA will be disregarded in the admissions process because it lacks any coherent meaning, as will the valedictorian status.

SAT’s are ok (lets remember there are kids who score higher than you :D). Ehh leadership. Ok EC but could be better (no ‘name brand’ national awards).

Just on the basis of SAT score, i’d give you around a 35% chance in at HYP each, assuming 2400’s have a 50% accept rate and exponential acceptance rates as you get to 2400 (Silverturtle’s research points to this). So your chances of getting into at least 1 of the HYP is quite high.

Just dont call yourself a cracker in the interview unless you say something about cheese as well.

Lol thanks Jason. The thing about my school is just our grading system. THere is no difference between a 91 and a 95 (i.e. 7/7 for an A, 6/7 for a B in honors classes). I do actually go to a very competitive public school and we send about 10-15 kids to the most elite college each year. And don’t worry I’m not gonna call myself a cracka in the interview lol :). thanks for your input dude. p.s. only took sat’s once and didn’t feel like taking them again lol.

I go to johndoe00’s school, and our school is indeed very difficult. Our grading system allows ties, and makes it such that taking 1 non-H/AP course drops you down to #10 at the highest. Some of the valedictorians don’t have any high A’s, while others have mostly A+'s.
