There’s not enough detail in here to show your academic and extracurricular strengths. It looks good, but when people post their stats it always does. Also, leave off the standardized scores until you actually have them.
You could look at it this way: you could have a bunch of people tell you “you’re gonna get in all those schools!” or “no chance!”, and then you still have to apply and find out. I doubt any of those opinions would shift your chance of getting in at all…
Also, as a 10th grader, you still have the most critical part of hs in front of u, so what use is a chance now? People can change dramatically in one year, and new opportunities may arise.

@crtexx but the 34 on a ACT is practically guaranteed because I got that on like 30+ tests

My advice: take the ACT and get it over with (30+ tests is too much, imo. I only did 5-6 practice sat tests to prepare for my psat, and I did fine, and will on the actual sat). Why not use those 90+ hours on some research or experiements etc…It’s all too easy to get obsessed with std testing.
Just lock in that test score and get it over with fast, so that you can focus on your interests: imo, that’s what will be of most use to you in the future.

@crtexx That’s true Im probably going to take the ACT first available date in the fall

UC Santa Cruz
University of Southern California
UC Davis
UC Riverside
Lewis and Clark University
Chico State University
Are all easy matches
HYPS,MIT&Colombia- low reach. You should get into 2 of them
You should get into Duke and Rice

^^ i agree with the above comments. try not to post stats until you know for certain you’re score. your ACT score is pretty good, but you still have your junior and senior year to get your grades up. b/c you did that summer camp at JHU, you may want to consider applying there early. they have a great medical school, and you would have an edge b/c you already experienced what it felt like to live there for a couple weeks

@fahrenheit1064 JHU is my first choice, so I will probably apply ED there.

JHU -High match-low reach
Duke -High match -match
Notre Dame - High match
Emory- Low reach
Penn -Low reach

At this point, it really depends on a lot of things. You’re only a sophomore. Long way to go! It could go either way… depends on AP scores, etc. etc

This is still really early, I like your spirit on how you are really striving to perform, but definitely try and bump up those grades

I really don’t think a top 15 school in state really matters, maybe in the US perhaps?

My school is only ranked #23

Consider expanding your horizons, do research projects maybe? (that is if you are a STEM robot like the rest of us)

I know someone who got accepted to Penn with 3.8 but I am sure he hadn’t done so many activities and participated in so many things as you have done so for Penn I can say you have pretty good chances

The problem with these super high level colleges (top 20) and even many top 30s is that admissions doesn’t seem to be based on purely extracurriculars, grades, or test scores.
In my school, the likely val. who has many (strong) extracs and great test scores got rejected from a bunch of those top schools, while a few lesser candidates in those categories got accepted. Maybe it was the essay, or maybe the admissions officers saw something “unique”, but admissions to those top schools are unpredictable. Just apply and find out.

Gonna agree with everyone else… There’s not much any of us can really do to accurately chance you at this point of your HS career.

It sounds like you’re on the right track, but a lot can change in a year’s time. Just keep heading in the direction you’re going and you should be fine :)

Yeah. Too young to be judged. You git two years bud. You can win a nobel in two years if good enough. So, wait for now.

Thanks for all of the insightful information

Duke and Penn are reaches, but low reaches. If you can swing at least a 2100 on your SAT then you have a good chance. You also have a high match for Emory.

@nambugoldstone Even with a 3.7 GPA? I will not be taking SAT’s.

You still have time to improve your GPA. Lets assume you get a 34 on your ACT.
Penn state will definitely take you in. UPenn is a reach like all ivies, but it’s one of the easier ivies to get into. JHU, Duke, and Notre Dame are low reaches. Emory is a High match/low reach.

You just really need to take a rigorous schedule and get good grades to bring you up!!

Are you at least taking the ACT? With a 3.7 GPA, you’ll need a high standardized test score to get in.
