Hi there - I hope you did apply to TAMU! Extremely strong engineering programs and with the Corps of Cadets, it seems like a perfect fit. I have a current kid in the “corps” at TAMU and every information session I attended, they reminded out of state students that they would almost undoubtedly receive the General Murray scholarship that reduces the cost down to the same as “in-state” students pay. With your impressive stats, you may receive other scholarships closing the gap as well though. And if you are planning ROTC, that of course reduces amount to pay even further. You mentioned in one response being nervous about not being “the most fit person ever.” Do not let that scare you from joining the corps. About 40% contract (military) and the rest do it for the leadership and character building among other things (my son included). There are different types of units and some focus more on PT (workouts etc) and others less so and more academically focused or court engineering students for example. I’d be happy to give you recommendations on target outfits to join from my son if you get to that point. I’d reach out to aggiecorps@corps.tamu.edu or 979-845-9232 and ask questions or get on their radar. If you haven’t already, get that application in stat! Don’t wait to apply to TAMU, better to do everything early there. Good Luck!
