Chance Me - 91% UW GPA, highly competitive GA HS, 1520 SAT for Duke ED, GATECH EA, UNC EA, UVA, UF, NYU, UMich, UT Austin [3.7 GPA, business / finance]

My son did his first year at Purdue - Daniels School of Business, (finance and accounting), though originally admitted through Quantitative Mathematics (or something less redundant) and asked for a major change before enrolling.

He loved it, except for the Dec-Feb winter cold and he coped with that fine. He used a guaranteed transfer to UNC-CH as our instate school as Economics w/ a planned double major or business minor if he can’t get into KFBS. He still loves Purdue and found them to be very highly organized and thorough with their new student entries. There’s quite a health mix of out of state and international students and a lot more racial/ethnic diversity than you might otherwise think of for a Midwestern Farm State School. It’s hard to argue that their STEM majors aren’t quant ready when they come out of school. Plus OOS I think I spent around $55k all in (including all our travel back and forth, laptop, dorm room upfit, and an initial cash account seed money to start off), thus making it a more reasonable OOS option versus some of the others out there.
