I should further clarify what I said.
- I think the student is better than most people here do.
- I like odds at 4 of the schools, one of which is GTech.
What that means to me is that I think the profile is better than people are claiming and when I like odds, I think about odds. In other words, this student will go 2/4 or better IMO. Agree that GTech may be the hardest admit that I think may work though. Note that IMO the common data set at GTech info is not unweighted, so the student is surely in the top category. Similarly, the test scores are at or above the average. From my experience, many kids like this get in, while some may not. But, I like the odds.
I know of a similar student who got the Stamps Scholarship. I also know one who did not get in at all. My post was less about GTech and more about the applicant overall and chances of admission to many school. Report back to tell us what happens. I look forward to hearing.
