I think Rutgers is coming soon, was thinking of applying to Umich until I saw that price.

You can’t afford Rutgers. There are cheaper schools - with room and board, Michigan is 4.5 times just Rutty tuition.

You have a budget. When you have a budget, you pick schools for the budget, not name.

Technically I can’t afford any colleges (except county) but Troy would probably be the cheapest.

If you get the free tuition or free tuition and housing, you could. But then do you want to be in rural Alabama.

You’ve applied to everywhere - let’s see what happens.

Let’s say you end up at Community College and then Rutty in two years.

Guess what - you’d still have a Rutgers degree and be the envy of 99.9% of people in this world.

We tend to take a lot for granted here. You’ve had a great upbringing it seems like, a fine education, and that will continue going forward no matter what.

As a few of us long-term NJ residents mentioned up-thread, there’s no school called “Rutty.”

I know. I love it tho. It’s the teen coming out on me. I’m connecting at OP’s level, not the adults in the room.

Honestly didn’t know saying “Rutty” instead of Rutgers was of any significant meaning

Is Rutty a real thing?

I know plenty of people whose kids go/went to Rutgers, and I never heard this.

I’ll defend the OP here. Call it Rutty if you want. The kids make the rules these days. I’m old enough to remember when UPenn was just called Penn. Now even the school uses UPenn. Maybe 10 years from now we’ll all call it Rutty. Just remember where you first heard it!

It doesn’t bother me at all that he calls it Rutty. I was just wondering.

Yes, we can say we heard it here first!

Well at my area (20 mins from Rutgers NB) we call it Rutty. Not sure if the rest of NJ or OOS call it that. I remember people calling Rutgers “Rutty” last year too.

You got forgive the aged :).

Whatever you call it, let’s see how this all pans out for you.

It reminds me of Coach and athlete speak. Like if your last name is smith, they call you smitty. Clark become Clarky. Josh becomes Joshy.

Anyway, we are too old. Lots of this online.

If nothing else, this young man has maybe brought a few of us to the modern era.
