Hey guys, would really appreciate if u could provide any thoughts on my application to transfer to top schools. Applied to other schools too listed below. Any positive and negative!!
Stats: 3.6 college GPA. (explained one bad semester due to very close family member pasing away. Difficult course rigor though doubled up on hard premed classes every semester, submitted 4.0 midterm report in hard classes).
1570 SAT/36 ACT.
Major: public/global health focus. NOT premed anymore. Current sophomore
General story/spike: used to be premed but switched to global health after founding a global health org. NO global health/public health program at my current small LAC.
Want to be global health and combine research outcomes with global health iniitatives. BRIDGE between research and on the ground public health.
Essays: Strong narrative about founding a global nonprofit and shifting from pure science to public/global health after personal experiences. Clear focus on bridging research and healthcare access globally. School-specific “Why X” essays tied to health programs, leadership opportunities, and mission alignment. Used transfer goat for essays
LORS: 4 LORs. two strong ones from econ/physics professors. One from CEO of a large global health org. One from ceo of another non profit. Additional fifth from a mount sinai PI.
