Do you have any financial limitations? Have you run the Net price calculator for BC and Villanova to see if the net price is affordable…or are you able and willing to pay the full cost of attancance?

In terms of chances…I am not an expert, but I think your chances are as good as all the other very well qualified students at BC. And better at Villanova.

@AustenNut your thoughts?

Just adding…what is your school’s track record at these two schools for stusents similar to yours.

Does your high school usually send a fair number of kids to BC? Any legacy?

Top 10 percent of the class with strong EC from a Catholic school will be a strong candidate if you ED. I do think it matters how many kids from your school are applying and how many these schools typically accept, and how many apply ED. From our school BC typically accepts 2 per year and Villanova typically accepts 3. If you ED with strong stats you have a good shot.

What’s his unweighted gpa. Take each core class ahd give 4 for an A, 3 for a B, 2 for a C.

Is there a test score ?

A budget comcern?

What major ?

A lot of the fieids were left blank.

Thank you very much. His school accepts roughly 12 from BC per year and there are close to 50 that apply. Most students who are accepted do choose to attend. Thank you very much for your feedback.

Yes, the school sends roughly 12 students each year to BC. No legacy. Thank you for your input!!

Hello,

His unweighted GPA is a 3.9, he does not plan to submit test scores, no budget concern, Major: Business. Thank you!

The cost of both schools is about the same and we are prepared to pay for either (although I will be working until I am 90 - LOL). He plans to apply to the Business Schools and will have very strong recs. I appreciate your feedback.

Both will be tough especially given the major and TO but not impossible.

They’re worth the shot but you need back ups such as the West Coast schools if want catholic / Jesuit ie Loyola Marymount, USD, SCU or Providence/Dayton/Loyola MD/Fordham to be closer East.

Good luck.

Thank you!!

May I know why you know that BC accepts 12 students from your son’s high school?

It is on Naviance. The number who apply, are accepted, and enroll.

It’s more difficult to get into the business school (Carroll) than arts and sciences (Morrissey). Given your son’s HS’s relationship with BC, his guidance counselor and the Naviance scattergram will probably give him a better idea of his chances than any of the posters here. Good luck.
