Chance Me: CA resident, 3.99 GPA (4.00/4.20/4.68 for UC, 4.14 for CSU), 1600 SAT, 1520 PSAT, computer engineering, applied math [home schooled with many college courses]

SCU is upfront about the importance of demonstrated interest and has a reputation for deferring/waitlisting high stats students, so perhaps a low target rather than a safety. On the upside, there is an opportunity to hear an EA result with merit in December, at which point it could become a safety if affordable.

So your parents can and will pay the full cost of attendance at all of the potential colleges on your list. SCU, for example, is over $80,000 a year. Others are close to or over that cost!

As I always point out as an illustration: My daughter was selected as a Regents Scholar at UC Berkeley
And was waitlisted by SCU. That is why I always caution about assuming SCU to be a safety, especially if you apply RD.

This OP would likely be deferred and invited to apply ED II by CWRU unless he demonstrated strong interest.
