I’m new to CC. I don’t know if the above information are specific enough.

already got into PSU UMN Rutgers but rejected from Boston University (ED)and OSU(to be honest I don’t know why)

Other schools applied:
Target: Virginia Tech TAMU Lehigh
Reach: UW Madison UIUC USC UCLA UCB UCI UCSD UCD University of Washington Seattle

I really love aerospace and UMD. I want to continue my study in US. I have a lot of extracurricular activities but my IB grade is poor. UMD is my top choice (I think I will be rejected from all of my reach schools)Please Chance me. Thanks!

UMD will announce decisions tomorrow, so best to just wait another day and know your actual results vs guesses from any of us here.

You have not mentioned your predicted IB scores so it’s hard to gauge your academic strength (which is very important for UMD).

Is the $150k per year, or total over 4 years?

I think you are right. I’m just too worried for the decision tomorrow.

I want to ask if the Predicted grade means PG? our school will give us PG scores next semester after a simulation IB exam.

My mid year report is the same as Expected grade. A 36/45.

There is no economic worries for my family.

What about others schools except UMD? Will I have a great chance to get into TAMU and Virginia Tech?

I think, yes for TAMU. VT is tougher, but possible.
You will hear from UIUC and Wisconsin tomorrow.

Congrats on your PSU and Rutgers acceptance. You already have some good choices locked in.

Good luck for UMD tomorrow.

I use to thought that it is very hard for internationals to get into TAMU. I applied RD for Madison and UIUC.

Anyway thanks for the long reply!! Really helpful!

Oh! That changes the picture, especially at UIUC. RD is much harder, sorry.

It’s all right. I don’t expect to be admitted to such good schools🙃. Just let it be

You should look into St. Louis University. They will accept regular decision applications until April.
They also have a great combo program where you can do courses at both SLU in the US and SLU Madrid.

PSU (where OP is already admitted) has a great (and highly ranked) aerospace engineering program.
I know a recent grad from that school who is now at his dream job at GE Aerospace.
So IMO he doesn’t need to apply anywhere else at this point.

Which one is better? UMN twin cities or PSU?

both of them have good aerospace. i prefer UMN because the major I got accepted is “mechanical and aerospace engineering” so I think I will be learning a wider range of things.
UMN is also located in the center of a city.
The only drawback I can think of is the temperature in Minnesota.

Is PSU better than that?

Both are very good for mechanical and aerospace engineering, so it comes down to personal preferences like what you mentioned (weather and location). I know a few kids who went to PSU and are doing very well. I personally don’t know anyone who went to UMN, so can’t really opine.

I am accepted to UMD! Thank you very much for the help!
