Hi everyone! I really want to know my real chances of getting into these schools from people who know the college scene well. I’m looking at and top NUs like Harvard, Princeton, Rice, Chicago, Johns Hopkins. Please be brutal, I need to realise what I’m capable of before dropping money on college applications. Chance me!
- Background: int student from Vietnam (lived in the US + Switzerland), need a lot of aid (near full tuition)
- SAT Superscore: 1530 (760 RW, 770 M)
- IB predicted; 43/45 (with English HL, History HL, Econ HL, Math SL, French SL and Physics SL)
- Intended Major: Government/ International Relations (i'm really certain on what I want to do)
- Awards: Honors every year of high school, 1 regional global citizen award, student of the year, a few more small school-based awards, 75% school scholarship for 3 years in high school.
- ECs:
- Volunteer (Swim Instructor: 3 years, Volunteer at community org: 3 years)
- Sports (Varsity Soccer: 4 years with 2 sportsmanship awards)
- Social Justice (educational group: founder 1 year)
- Arts (concert band: 3 years, rock band w/ my mates: 3 years, piano with full scholarship: 8 years)
- Research with a professor from a graduate school from the US Department of Defense + his recommendations Obviously, my essays matter too but would these "surface-level" stats be good enough to get me through the admission officers' quick scan?
