Chance me for UPenn Nursing [NH resident, 3.87 GPA, 1450 SAT]

If you took courses AT a community college that is near your…pay a visit to the registrars office and ask for your transcript.

Regardless…an official transcript will need to be requested by you and submitted to all colleges where you apply.

You will likely have to pay for these official transcripts.

Yes, I figured it out, it’s $5 I am all set now

It would help but would need to also understand your transcript better. For example, if you have a 3.87 from a combination of A’s and A-’s (no B’s), I think you become a reasonable applicant for Penn. Then, I would move to how compelling your activities (which are strong) show on the application. Will your application scream nursing?

Congratulations on a very strong profile, with everything in line with Nursing. Your ECs will be a strong plus for you – at Penn and all others. So, Penn Nursing is not out of reach but the low acceptance rate makes this impossible to predict. If it’s your definite first choice it’s a good ED to have, as long as you have other apps.

Look for direct entry nursing as a priority.

You’re taking too many APs senior year - it won’t help with admissions (once you hit a threshold -typically ~10-12 overall and 5 senior year- the law of diminishing returns applies) and by taking a lot of time will impact the time you have for applications. Remove AP Physics 2 and AP CSA. Your other AP classes are all in line with Nursing admissions so keep them. Wrt AP Latin, indicate you took the course but it’s not necessary to take the AP exam (you’ll have to take a spoken language while in college - since you took Latin, a Romance language would be easiest and your Latin background will help you tremendously.)

The national clearinghouse will indicate you took college courses while in HS so make sure to sort out the problem and submit your transcript. This will be a plus for you because the best evidence of future college success is previous college success

Thank you so much for your response. As for my APs, I agree I will drop AP Latin, but as for the other few, I actually enjoy them, so I probably will discuss with a counselor, but will try my best to keep the core courses for nursing. I also figured out the transcript! Thanks for all your advice, very helpful!

I did get 1 B in calculus (high B - 89), but also got a 5 on the exam, teacher is super hard but prepares you to well for exam. But besides that all As. I will also try to work on making me ECs say nursing more. Thank you for your help!
