What does “settling down” mean in this context? I may be misinterpreting but it sounds like you think you can’t make a “name for yourself” after you get married (which you don’t “have” to do unless and until you want to) and have kids. I know a good number of women doctors, some of them close friends. They all have kids. They have all done some of their best career work after having kids.

I second the questions above about why you want to do med school - is it truly the thing you want to do most?
