Your SAT score and GPA are relatively high and your AP scores are adequate, however, those don’t matter so much in the admissions process. Although you may have a decent chance solely based on your test scores, your application as a whole is very weak in my opinion. First of all, commended national scholar is basically worthless and most of your academic awards are honor societies which almost any high achieving student could be a part of. Also, you’re only in Calc AB as a senior?? Your community service is solid but building a turtle pond will not get you into college. Due to your weak extracurriculars and lack of rigor in curriculum, I seriously doubt you will be accepted to any highly competitive college. However, keep trying your luck! Also, you’re white.

@sarcasticfrog76 Ignore admissionsmaster6969. You have great stats and EC - your application is not at all “very weak”. Of course I don’t know if you will get in (no one does!) and we all know OOS is hard. But I think you have an excellent chance. My child has similar stats and I am pulling for both of you!

You have solid stats (excellent course rigor, great test scores, upward trend), great EC’s, and amazing awards (congrats on Eagle Scout!!). From the extent of my limited knowledge, you have a great shot. Nobody can be completely sure, however. Best of luck!

@sarcasticfrog76 very good credentials. What state are you from? How does your grading scale work? In the country I live in they have a 4.0 scale and +.5 for honors and +1.0 for AP. The top few in the class has around a 4.5.

You have an excellent chance! Good luck Eagle Scout!

You have a great SAT score and good AP scores. I would question exactly how your school allows a 5.2 GPA; nevertheless, such things tend to be figured out in the all-knowing admissions process. Your extracurriculars look good as well and hopefully your teacher recs will match your essays in quality.

Of course, this is OOS, so all your competitors will be strong too. I’ve heard that it’s approaching Ivy-league levels of difficulty to get into UVA from outside Virginia. Taking this into account, I’d rate you a solid match.
