Chance me Penn State Harrisburg

I want to go for civil engineering
GPA: 3.98
SAT: 1360
I’m homeschooled and took the only two honors courses offered, got 100 in both. Sadly no APs, didn’t realize they were even a thing or how important they could be until this summer.
Bit of a goof up in my junior year and I’m taking Algebra II this year, however I’m signed up for Trig classes over the spring and plan on taking pre-calc over the summer.
I have tons of hours of community service, some work experience, and have played tennis for a few years now.

I know I’m a bit unimpressive compared to most people here, I’m just curious if I have a chance at this school.

Edit: I should add my application process changed from being verified to being reviewed, so from what I read I think that means I fit the requirements of the program but I could be wrong here.

Pretty much a safety. Main campus would be a low match. Any reason for choosing Harrisburg?

I didn’t want to leave Pennsylvania and with how important accreditation is for civil I figured there’s no way I could get into any of the other accredited programs because of no APs and a bit behind the math curve. You have no idea how relieving it is to hear that!

I meant University Park instead of Harrisburg.

With your great stats you might qualify for a scholarship at Geneva or Temple. Pitt may also accept you. They have a co-op program.

Sorry are you asking why I didn’t apply to University Park? If so I just honestly never thought I’d have a shot, & my dad wanted me to put a local campus as my secondary starting option.

Wait really? I didn’t think my stats would outweigh the math and the fact that my education was lacking rigor compared to some people’s. I will definitely look into these schools asap, thank you!!

It’s worth a try.

And going to branch campus and then finish at PS UP is also an option with 2+2 program.
