SHMANKS :D

Are you half Korean though?
You have pretty competitive stats. You seem to have made the most of what your school offers. I’d say you have a pretty good chance. But see if you can up your reading and writing score to at least high 600s.

from my interview with an admissions counselor, they told me that UVa is now looking more at the writing section of SAT reasoning if weighing its importane at all, and if you’re above 2000 or so, a certain standard, then your application would be what is considered.

Would you attend UVa if you got in?

Yeah I’m half and I would SO attend
Yeahhh I’m retaking my SAT’s in December and hoping for 700+ on both reading and writing. Thanks for the input!

I landed here via a general search for mentions of UVa and thought I’d chime in about the post I have quoted below.

We have considered all three sections of the SAT for years. There is no “weight” in this process. One doesn’t have to surpass any bar to have an application read here. All applications are reviewed thoroughly.

I may have misinterpreted your post because of the punctuation, ahahaha. Please feel free to have your counselor call to chat with us…I fear there may be a misunderstanding about how our process works.

Did your guidance counselor really tell you that? I thought my GC was lost but that statement makes him look amazing. Remember UVA uses a holistic approach meaning they review your WHOLE application - not just one part. Of course having a high score will help undoubtably but not having that high of a score can be overcome through great essays, EC’s, etc.
