Chance vs. Celebration

Yo fellas,

After we get our tests let’s all post our English section scores so we can evaluate whether it was chance or celebration. This question seems to have everyone split.

I say it was “a chance to experience owning property” vs. “a celebration of owning property”

Eh?

i picked celebration of

but i’m afraid of the however question

i picked ; however, for it (or both if there were 2)

rasta, using “however,” after a semicolon is perfectly ok…it says so in barrons act 36 book

which question was that?

so did i.

Chance to Experience baby!!!

celebration of

i didn’t take the test or see the question, but based on the excerpts here, i would have to go with chance.

i know that ; however, is fine

but i’m not sure if the answer was

, however,
; however,

i also think i picked a colon twice [dont remember]

so there are those 3 questions

im pretty sure in the question there were 2 independent clauses surrounding the however so i think the semi-colon is right

Monopoly gave people the chance to buy/sell property during rough economic times.

i remember getting questions wrong in the red book for not picking the most postiive answer even though the answer was stupid

so i just picked celebration because it sounds more positive

so the answer was ;however,?

rastafarian omg me too, thats y i picked celebration…no matter how dumb it sounds in context, the answers for the imagery/tone questions are always the one with more description/emotions!

@jkaplan yep i think so. learned that from accelerated grammar

@rasta

do u know what pg I could find that on?

I can’t remember if I put that or not lol, hopefully I did!

@bear

I cant seem to find any of those type of questions in the red book

where do u find them?
