chances at AE

-sister is a senior at AE top 5%, 97 ssat, both parents graduated from Dartmouth (father is CT prep),good grades,URM - African American boy.Gotten great advice from big sis…Sorry I meant chances at PA.

I think you have almost an automatic in, unless you have absolutely no EC’s once so ever. Good Luck!!!

You’re in. Both of my parents went to Dartmouth too. What classes were yours?

wow , what a coincidence. Was you father CT prep as well?were you a child of Dartmouth? Is FA an issue?I wonder if any kids on this board can identify with such a sweet scenario.I was posting this up for a friend.

Definitely - you’re in. Congrats on your achievements. Are you heading to Dartmouth, too?
I got a 97 SSAT too. What was your sister’s SSAT score, just wondering? She must be an incredible person to be in the top 5 percent … I’m hoping my 97 won’t hurt me in the long run, against my classmates.

Ask Suze I think she knows. No Dartmouth for me, I was posting this for a friend who might be headed to SPS or PA.

If your friend is a URM scoring in the 97% on the SSAT (translates to 99% nationally), he’d be into any college on his own with decent grades.

What is a child of Dartmouth? I did visit often as a child and drank out of Dartmouth cups during my childhood! I can tell you the best room at the Hanover Inn and when I was really young I thought everyone went there as my parents and their friends always called it “the college.” They stopped short of making us eat green eggs and ham but I understand I’ll have to during freshmen trip.

I am going to Dartmouth, but I alo got into Harvard and Princeton with no legacy.

I am so sorry I misquoted Suze. She posted this 3/31/2005 : “I was born of Dartmouth, a true Dartmouth diversity story”. Probably hard to keep up with 3400+ posts.

Gosh Francis, you’ve been quoting my old posts all over. And you’re fictional thread, this one, why that’s me you described. Is this a form of stalking? Get a life Francis.

Francis is not a prep school applicant or boarding school student. He has spent the last 90 days posting on CC to see who is using the service and how accurate the information is.First, there are lots of hopefull applicants who desire feedback. Most have one or two flaws in their resume’ that cause a panic. They are overachievers and good kids.Second, there are parents who have gotten their children into BS and want to stay connected to the process(my guess is missing their kid) .Third, there are the BS kids who think have got all the world by the tail and feel a need to give out advice. The problem with that is they can’t admit to being wealthy, legacy,URM and just plain gifted. It is interesting that those gifted kids want to waste so much time online instead of enjoying the BS experience. There are no secret paths. It is amazing how a couple of 18 year olds at the nations top BS tell you and your children that you need to “check out Episcopal or look at Culver”.I thought I would detect more applicants who were legacy,URM,99 ssat, and just posting for fun.IMO it was a pleasant surprise to see little of that.I have completed my project and expect to earn an A.Good luck to everyone.

What!!!

I’m not sure if that was a joke or not…

Interesting! Well, you have certainly made good observations (although the correctness of your analysis may be arguable). With regard to your project, Francis, I wish you good luck.

From the observations I have made, I can say with certainty that he is not joking.

Oh he’s full of it…

Very funny. Realll cute.

um ya…i second what blairt said

Suze, if I can ask, what were your stats while applying to BS? (SSATs, GPA) and what was your rank at Andover - you go there, right?

Thanks. :)

i m pretty sure they dont “rank” at andover

No, they do not rank at Andover. It would make the school much more competitive than it already is.

Do they tell you what decile you’re in?

Congratulations on the acceptances, suze.
