Chances at Cate and Exeter...

Hello, my name is Griffin, and i am applying to Cate School and Exeter and i was wondering if i could have some feedback about my chances. I am in 8th grade.
I am fluent in French and English, and know a little bit of many languages
I am in High School math (Geometry)
I get mostly A’s and occasional B’s but are usually high B’s
I play Lacrosse and Basketball competitively.
I am very athletic.
I went To the Exeter Summer School program.
I am on the Debate Team and travel around the West Coast for it playing the best debate clubs.
I do a before school reading and debate club.
I do a student leadership program that helps incoming students.
I help tutor kids who struggle in math.
I am trying to start a MUN at my school.
I probably don’t need FA.
I do Student Government, and a group called Active Caring Teens where we raised money to donate to Kenya schools.
I am in around the 99th percentile in most of my statewide tests.
And that’s about all i can think of, do i have a good chance i getting into either Exeter or Cate School which one would you recommend.

I don’t know much about Cate, but you certainly have a good chance at Exeter. Ace those SSAT’s  If you get into both, I think choosing Exeter would be a no-brainer  Good luck.

Do NOT make an uninformed snap judgment, as Chrome16 did, about Exeter’s supposed superiority over Cate. The two schools are wildly different in atmosphere, spirit, community, intimacy etc. Both will give you a superb education and send you to a great college, if that’s your ambition. On this site, you will read a lot of charged opinions advocating for one school or another. Take the time to visit both schools and be thorough in your examination. Try to spend a whole day at each, perhaps adding some athletic events to your interview and tour. These great institutions could not be more different and I would expect you to “feel” equally different about them after your visits.

Can we please put chances in the chances section?

Why, my good sir Parlabane, I take utter offense  How darest thou proclaim me “uninformed,” when in fact I am only half-uninformed? :)

On a serious note, though, do take Parl’s advice and get a good feel for both of the schools. I’m obviously biased, but you probably have already found out a little about Exeter through the summer program. I think that will be hard for Cate to top, but different people have different opinions.

Sorry this was my first time so I didn’t know how to place it in a certain section.

Thanks any suggestions on how to have a better chance

Ooh I live on the West Coast and do debate too! Maybe I’ll see you haha, in fact I met a boy from the last debate thing named Griffin but people called him Blue…ya I don’t know. My opinion is for Cate, you’ll probably get in. Exeter chances are slightly lower, but you are a minority (living on the WC) so that may help you. It’s a huge plus, however, that you went to that summer thing. Good luck on the SSATs though! I’m going through the same admissions anxiety as you, but with different schools I’m applying to. :)

Haha nice thanks a lot!
