Chances at Oxford with a High GPA but at a Mid Tier School?

I recently graduated from Virginia Tech and am interested in pursuing a masters degree in politics at Oxford. I finished with a 3.81 GPA, but with an in-major gpa of 3.82 and 3.96 in political science and sociology respectively. Despite my GPA meeting the minimum for my intended course, I am worried that going to a middle tier school in the US hurts me. Does where I went to school matter? I have research experience and strong recommendations as well.

If your Statement of Purpose, written work and LoRs are strong enough, it shouldn’t be a problem.

fyi, the GPA thing is really just a gateway- they won’t accept you with less than that, but it won’t promise you a spot either. Your fit for their program is what will matter more.
