Chances at UVA.

White female, in-state, applying Regular Decision.

SATI: M590 V640 W680
Thus a 1910. Not too impressive, I must say.
SATII: Taking in December: Math I, Latin, Literature

GPA: 3.9 (Weighted)

Past AP scores: AP European History: 3; AP US History: 3; AP Environmental Science: 3; AP Latin Virgil: 5
–So I’m thinking besides the 5 on the Latin, they wouldn’t accept those classes in which I received 3’s.

Present course load and grades: AP Statistics(B); AP Biology(A); AP English Literature(B); AP Government(A); AP Latin Language(A); Advanced Italian I(A) (Weighted like AP course)
–Hopefully I can bring those B’s up.

While I usually receive a majority of A’s and a few B’s, I’ve got a couple C’s scattered around from past courses. I’ve been told this will decrease my chances of getting in significantly.

Clubs: National Honors Society(10,11,12); Maury Alchemists(10); Phoenix Rising(11); Habitat for Humanity(11); Young Democrats(12); Latin Club(9,10,11,12-president); National Latin Honors Society(10,11,12); Italian Club(12)

Awards: Various medals for National Latin Exam; AP Scholar award

Sports: Sailing(10); Crew(11)

Work: Panera Bread Co. (10-20 hours a week)

Recommendations: Haven’t gotten teachers to write these up yet; however, I’ve known teachers for quite a while and am positive they will write exemplary letters. Also one from the Tim Kaine for Governor Campaign in which I volunteered this past gubernatorial election.

Essays: Finished one, the favorite word one. Pretty sweet, I think. Still have to complete others.

ur chance = it;s definitely possible…write good essays
