<p>There is absolutely no truth to the rumor that students who logged into NYU Home in an attempt to retrieve an admissions decision were waitlisted. As has been noted in previous threads on this topic, all offers of admission were finalized at the time of this incident and many of our notification letters were in the mail. We have yet to make any changes to any admissions decisions because of the poor judgement of a number of our applicants.</p>
<p>Hey - that’s certainly a very impressive resume you got yourself there. Remember - lately its been like everyone can just pull of the super numbers - the question now is - who can pull of the numbers and be amazingly well rounded at the same time. Numbers dont mean anything so dont fret. Unfortunately we have an admission system that finds it easier to judge people based on numbers - like SATs etc. But NYU receives a school profile and so they know the opportunities that are available to you - i.e. - school funding, test scores, overall performance. And yes - location does help. Every school likes to say - “we have kids even from out in Hawaii coming to attend here” so if you’re out in Utah that can only help you. And a delayed letter does not imply that you’re waitlisted or rejected. I live in NJ and ppl got acceptance letters and rejection letters all on the same day. It could just be taking a while to get out there. Keep in mind they have like 35,000 applicants i think they said. And I remember when I applied -they said to give it 3 weeks to get letters. And the whole log in thing - is that NYU had a glitch a couple weeks ago where anyone could sign in … once they found that out they started posting “you have to be a member.” Anyways I wish you the best of luck - hopefully I’ll see you around campus in Sept =]</p>
